The crystal structure (R = 0.0194) of arcanite β-K2SO4 was studied on a single crystal from exhalations of the Arsenatnaya fumarole, Tolbachik Volcano (Kamchatka, Russia). The mineral crystallizes at a temperature of ≥350–430°C and associates with langbeinite, aphthitalite, hematite, tenorite, johillerite, and others. Arcanite is orthorhombic, Pnma, a = 7.4763(2) Å, b = 5.77262(16) Å, c = 10.0630(3) Å, V = 434.30(2) Å3, Z = 4. Its structure contains isolated SO4 tetrahedra, whereas K cations center ten- and nine-fold polyhedra.  相似文献

A number of rare phosphates have been found in specimens from the Chalotskoe pegmatite deposit, Transbaikal region, Russia: väyrynenite, MnBe[PO4](OH,F); parascholzite, CaZn2[PO4]2 · 2H2O; messelite, Ca2(Fe2+,Mn)[PO4]2 · 2H2O; eosphorite, MnAl[PO4](OH)2 · H2O; moraesite, Be2[PO4](OH)4H2O; and fluorapatite. Väyrynenite forms pink grains 2–3 mm in size, less frequent prismatic crystals up to 0.8 × 3.0 cm, and spheres up to 3 mm in diameter. Parascholzite occurs as pockets up to 0.6 × 1.0 cm composed from snow-white small grains. Messelite forms pale yellow honeycomb grains and poorly shaped crystals up to 1 mm. Eosphorite has been seen in the Chalotskoe pegmatites before, but it has not been studied in detail. It occurs as red-brown prismatic crystals up to 8 cm in length, occasionally forming openbook- like aggregates and pink to pale pink grains up to 5 mm in size. Moraesite forms snow-white fibrous aggregates up to 5 × 6 mm, together with white spheres and short prismatic crystals of fluorapatite up to 1 mm. Microcline, albite, quartz, muscovite, beryl, schorl, almandine-spessartine, columbite-(Fe), and bertrandite are associated minerals. Väyrynenite and parascholzite are found for the first time in Russia.

The paper reports original thermochemical data on six natural amphibole samples of different composition. The data were obtained by high-temperature melt solution calorimetry in a Tian–Calvet microcalorometer and include the enthalpies of formation from elements for actinolite Ca1.95(Mg4.4Fe 0.5 2+ Al01)[Si8.0O22](OH)2(–12024 ± 13 kJ/mol) and Ca2.0(Mg2.9Fe 1.9 2+ Fe 0.2 3+ )[Si7.8Al0.2O22](OH)2, (–11462 ± 18 kJ/mol), and Na0.1Ca2.0(Mg3.2Fe 1.6 2+ Fe 0.2 3+ )[Si7.7Al0.3O22](OH)2 (–11588 ± 14 kJ/mol); for pargasite Na0.5K0.5Ca2.0-(Mg3.4Fe 1.8 2+ Al0.8)[Si6.2Al1.8O22](OH)2 (–12316 ± 10 kJ/mol) and Na0.8K0.2Ca2.0(Mg2.8Fe 1.3 3+ Al0.9) [Si6.1Al1.9O22](OH)2 (–12 223 ± 9 kJ/mol); and for hastingsite Na0.3K0.2Ca2.0(Mg0.4Fe 1.3 2+ Fe 0.9 3+ Al0.2) [Si6.4Al1.6O22](OH)2 (?10909 ± 11 kJ/mol). The standard entropy, enthalpy, and Gibbs free energy of formation are estimated for amphiboles of theoretical composition: end members and intermediate members of the isomorphic series tremolite–ferroactinolite, edenite–ferroedenite, pargasite–ferropargasite, and hastingsite.  相似文献

For the case of Tycho’s supernova remnant (SNR) we present the relation between the blast wave and contact discontinuity radii calculated within the nonlinear kinetic theory of cosmic ray (CR) acceleration in SNRs. It is demonstrated that these radii are confirmed by recently published Chandra measurements which show that the observed contact discontinuity radius is so close to the shock radius that it can only be explained by efficient CR acceleration which in turn makes the medium more compressible. Together with the recently determined new value E sn=1.2×1051 erg of the SN explosion energy this also confirms our previous conclusion that a TeV γ-ray flux of (2–5)×10−13 erg/(cm2 s) is to be expected from Tycho’s SNR. Chandra measurements and the HEGRA upper limit of the TeV γ-ray flux together limit the source distance d to 3.3≤d≤4 kpc.  相似文献

The crystal structure of gearksutite, Ca and Al hydrofluoride CaAlF4(OH) · H2O, was refined using the Rietveld method with power diffraction data. The thermal stability of its crystal structure was studied for the first time using high-temperature XRD. Thermal XRD study of the mineral in the temperature range from 25 to 300°C revealed its stability to temperatures of 300-310°C. The mineral began to decay at temperatures greater than 300°C. The increase in the unit-cell parameters was established and the coefficients of thermal expansion were calculated.  相似文献

The crystal structure of fornacite Pb2(Cu,Fe)[CrO4(As,P)O4OH] from the Berezovskii deposit (Central Urals, Russia) was refined by X-ray powder diffraction data using the Rietveld method. Fornacite is monoclinic, space group P21/c, the unit cell dimensions are a = 8.09015(12), b = 5.90913(9), c = 17.4839(2) Å, β = 109.99(2), V = 785.5(3) Å3, and Z = 4. The structure was refined in the isotropic approximation of the atomic displacement parameters up to R p = 0.0516, R wp = 0.0692, R B = 0.0229, and R F = 0.0200. The fornacite structure is similar to that of minerals of the brackebuschite-group and consists of heteropolyhedral chains, built by the columns of edge-sharing Cu2+O6 octahedra connected with isolated Cr6+O4 and As5+O4 tetrahedra. The chains are linked by ninefold Pb2+ polyhedra.  相似文献
