应用《Hipparcos星表》中的自行和视差等数据,可以确定员星团、毕星团以及其它近距疏散星团的距离。对由此所得的结果以及由地面观测已得的结果作了评述,指出毕星团的距离问题已经圆满解决,等于(46.34±0.27)pc。可是,由Hipparcos定出的昂星团距离,却比最新的一些地面测定结果近了10%以上.另外,由Hipparcos定出的其他近距星团的距离,明显地分为两种情况,即由鬼星团、后发星团、英仙星团和Blanco1星团确定了一条主序,而易星团与IC2301和IC2602两个星团一起,得出了另一条主序,两者相比,后者暗了约0.5mag.这些问题与矛盾,有待于进一步的地面和未来的空间观测来解决。  相似文献

本文利用最大似然原理求解移动星团问题,同时确定了昂星团的平均距离和运动学参数及其相应的弥散度·归算结果得到昂星团距离为d=135.6±0.7pc,相应弥散度。σd=7.7±08pc;昂星团平均空间速度为V=25.9±0.1km/s,相应弥散度σv=0.6±0.1km/s,以及昴星团会聚点坐标(A,D)=(6h47m24s±2m00s-47°.4±0°.3.)。  相似文献

以球状星团NGC (New General Catalogue) 104、NGC 5139、NGC 6121为实验样区, 选取了视差等10个恒星参数, 通过引入地学中的空间分析理论和相应的分析框架为定量描述球状星团成员星的空间分布特征提出了一种基于地学的研究范式. 通过计算全局和局部莫兰(Moran)指数得到球状星团成员星各恒星参数的空间分布特征. 研究结果表明: 球状星团NGC 104、NGC 5139、NGC 6121成员星的各恒星参数在总体上呈现出空间正相关特性, 表现出空间集聚特征, 但不同恒星参数之间存在差异; 局部空间分布也呈现聚集特征, 而不同的成员星呈现出不同的空间分布特性和趋势. 总体而言, 用地学空间相关分析系统地定量化描述球状星团成员星空间分布特征, 能够为球状星团的研究提供新的思路.  相似文献

利用上海天文台40厘米折射望远镜照相观测资料所得出的恒星自行,按最大似然原理确定了疏散星团NGC6530天区内恒星的成员概率.分析表明星团成员确定是非常有效的,成员概率p≥0.9的恒星计有250颗.最后,确定了星团的空间运动,并作了简单的讨论.  相似文献

球状星团是银河系中最古老的天体类型之一,其累积光度很大,是银晕中重要的示踪天体。已以发现的银河系球状星团有140多个,其中120个银心距R〈40Kpc的星团已被准确地测定了视向速度。根据结数据以及球状星团金属度的统计分析,可以把球状星团次系再进一步分成某些不同的族群。目前已经测定过绝对自行的球状星团只有38个,尽管这些自行的精度比视向速度和距离的精度差很多,然而,由此可以得出三维的空间速度,在统计  相似文献

对疏散星团进行统计研究时,场星的混淆可能是一个严重问题,必须认真对待。本文详细讨论了在估算疏散星团维里(Virial)质量时,正确利用成员概率的重要性。分析表明,只有利用大概率的成员星才能得到合理的星团Virial质量。重新计算后M11的Virial质量为5094μ_⊙,与直接观测到的光度质量的最新结果(4671μ_⊙)符合得很好,维里系数为0.9。  相似文献

We have applied the “moving cluster” method to an archive of L and T brown dwarf stars to identify those stars which are members of the Ursa Major moving group.We show that five stars have proper motion directions which agree with the direction of motion expected for a cluster member, and which have proper motion distances in agreement with distances determined by trigonometrical parallax observations. We then use 2MASS data to produce an M K versus J ‐ K S colour magnitude diagram. The group members define an empirical 400 Myr isochrone, which is compared to theoretical models. A unified analytical treatment of the Malmquist bias is presented. Depending on the data under consideration and on the way the mean values of absolute magnitude are calculated, three different types of Malmquist bias appear: integral bias, and magnitude- and distance-dependent ones. An analytical consideration of the distance-dependent bias, previously studied in extragalactic astronomy, is given in terms of the trigonometric parallax. In a quantitative treatment of the Spaenhauer diagram, in which the derived absolute magnitude is plotted versus the true parallax, we developed an easy-to-use method for determination of the region unaffected by the bias ('unbiased plateau'). Considering spectroscopic distance indicators, we point out that for any magnitude-limited sample spectroscopic distance and parallax approach constant limits as the true distance increases. We draw some examples from luminosity calibrations of stellar classes. A brief outline is also given of a tentative course of investigations, anticipating future space astrometry missions.  相似文献

We present a systematic search for parallax microlensing events among a total of 512 microlensing candidates in the OGLE II data base for the  1997–1999  seasons. We fit each microlensing candidate with both the standard microlensing model and a parallax model that accounts for the Earth's motion around the Sun. We then search for the parallax signature by comparing the χ 2 of the standard and parallax models. For the events which show a significant improvement, we further use the 'duration' of the event and the signal-to-noise ratio as criteria to separate true parallax events from other noisy microlensing events. We have discovered one convincing new candidate, sc33_4505, and seven other marginal cases. The convincing candidate (sc33_4505) is caused by a slow-moving, and likely low-mass, object, similar to other known parallax events. We found that irregular sampling and gaps between observing seasons hamper the recovery of parallax events. We have also searched for long-duration events that do not show parallax signatures. The lack of parallax effects in a microlensing event puts a lower limit on the Einstein radius projected on to the observer plane, which in turn imposes a lower limit on the lens mass divided by the relative lens–source parallax. We present high-resolution echelle spectroscopy of 20 stars in 16 systems catalogued as members of the TW Hydrae association, and 16 stars identified as possible new members. We have calibrated the range of coronal and chromospheric activity expected for such young stars as a function of spectral type by combining our observations with literature data for field and open cluster stars. We also compute space motions for TWA members and candidate members with proper motion measurements, using two techniques to estimate distances to stars lacking direct trigonometric parallax measurements. The mean space motion of the four TWA members with known parallaxes is  ( U , V , W : −10.0, −17.8, −4.6) km s−1  . 14 of the candidates have properties inconsistent with cluster membership; the remaining two are potential new members, although further observations are required to confirm this possibility.  相似文献

Parallax measurements allow distances to celestial objects to be determined. Together with measurements of their position on the celestial sphere, they give a full three-dimensional picture of the location of the objects relative to the observer. The distortion of the parallax value of a distant source affected by weak microlensing is considered. This means that the weak microlensing leads to distortion of the distance scale. The gravitational deflection causes a retrograde apparent motion of the image, which is revealed as a negative parallax. It is shown that the distortions may significantly change the parallax values when they amount to several microseconds of arc. In particular, at this level many measured values of parallaxes should be negative.  相似文献

We report on the analysis of astrometric and photometric data from Hipparcos, Tycho and the ACT catalogue in a 1200 sq. degree field around the nearby open star cluster in Coma Berenices and infer the characteristic features of this cluster. From a sample of 51 kinematic members we derive the cluster's distance, size and spatial structure as well as its stellar content, mass and age. We find that the cluster consists of an elliptical core-halo system with major axis parallel to the direction of galactic motion, and of a moving group of extratidal stars. The latter have tangential distances ≥10 pc from the cluster center, but have the same distance from the Sun, the same motion and the same age as the stars in the core and halo. The luminosity function of the core-halo system steeply declines beyond absolute magnitude MV=4.5, but that of the moving group rises towards fainter magnitudes and suggests the existence of further low-mass members below the current magnitude limit. The cloud of extratidal stars witnesses the process of dissolution of the cluster.  相似文献

The common practice in luminosity calibration of sample truncation according to relative parallax error λ can lead to bias with indirect methods such as reduced parallaxes as well as with direct methods. This bias is not cancelled by the Lutz–Kelker corrections and in fact can be either negative or positive. Making the selection stricter can actually lead to a larger absolute amount of bias and lower accuracy in certain cases.
The degree to which this bias is present depends upon whether the sample is more nearly specified by the relative parallax error or by the limiting apparent magnitude when both limits formally apply; when the latter limit dominates it is absent. The difference between the means for the two extreme cases is what is customarily termed the Malmquist bias. However, it is not truly bias, but rather what we call here an offset .
For a sample to be effectively magnitude-limited, there is a lower bound imposed on the mean absolute magnitude which depends on the limiting magnitude. If a wide-ranging luminosity relation such as the Wilson–Bappu relation is to be calibrated, some portion of the relation may be magnitude-limited and the rest not. In that case there will be offsets between the different parts of the relation, including the transition region between the two extremes, as well as bias outside the magnitude-limited part.
Another, less common, practice is truncation according to weight, specifically with the reduced parallax method. Such truncation can also bias the calibration with one variant of the method. Indeed, the weighting scheme used with that variant introduces bias even without truncation.
For calibration it is probably best to use a general maximum likelihood method such as the grid method with a magnitude-limited sample and no limit on relative parallax error. The Malmquist shift could then be applied to obtain an estimate of the volume-limited mean.  相似文献

The aim of this article is making use of the Gaia DR3 catalogue and virtual observatory tools, to confirm and characterize 428 binary and multiple stellar systems classified as neglected (only one observation) in the Washington Double Star Catalogue (WDS). The components of the stellar systems have the same parallax and proper motion (within the errors) and are separated by less than 50,000 AU, which minimizes the number of by-chance counterparts. Effective temperatures calculated using VOSA were used to estimate stellar masses. Binding energies were calculated for 42 binary systems confirming they are physical pairs. Also we found 75 pairs with F/G- M spectral types, which are very interesting to improve the determination of the metallicity of the M star from the higher mass component.  相似文献
