Role of Institutional Capacity on River Pollution Control and Management:A Case Comparison between the Pearl River on Guangzhou Section and the River Thames on London section

This work is prepared to investigate the role of institutional capacity in water pollution control and management in China.In particular,the Pearl River on Guangzhou section is the area of the study,with the case study of River Thames on London section,in order to identify the main obstacles hindering the efforts on river pollution control and management,from the perspective of institutional capacity in China,followed by a number of recommendations for future improvement.It is hoped that this work can ultimately lead to an institutional capacity compatible to China’s unique situation.
