Thin scattering diffusion and the size of the crab nebula

The dependence of the size of the Crab Nebula on the frequency of observation is deduced from the hypothesis of thin scattering diffusion of the radiating electrons in an inhomogeneous magnetic field. Although a substantial agreement can be reached, still some difficulties, and notably the resulting very high energy content of the nebula, remain open for further discussion.
