Abstract:The fundamental elements of the Solar Multi-channel Telescope made in China are rhree 'birefrigent filters. The first versatile nine-channel filter has the most narrow bandwidth 0.05 A and can be adjusted from 3800 A to 7000 A. The second used to measure the magnetic field and Doppler velocity of the overall solar disk is also a versatile filter whose bandwidth is 0.1 A. The third is an Ha filter with 0.5 A bandwidth which can be adjusted 32 A from the line center. When we make these fiters, the most difficulty is to develop more than two hundred achromatic waveplates of all sorts. Centering on. the subject of development, of the high-quality achromatic waveplate in this paper, we describe the design, the error controll and the cement of these waveplates, and also the check on the optical quality of the crystal used.
