| Abstract: | ZusammenfassungBaugeologische Erkenntnisse im Erdbebengebiet von Korinth/Griechenland 77 n. Chr. wurde die alte Handelsstadt Korinth durch ein Erdbeben bis auf wenige Reste zerstört. Diese Reste aber blieben bis heute erhalten. Der Autor führt nun aus, daß das keine Laune des Zufalls ist, sondern daß im Erdbebengebiet von Korinth Häuser erdbebensicher gebaut werden können, wenn ihre Fundamente auf den gesunden Mergel anstatt auf die darüberliegenden harten Sandsteinbänke gesetzt werden.

RésuméExpériences géomécaniques dans la région sismique de Corinthe/Grèce L'ancien ville de commerce Corinthe a été presque entièrement détruite en année 77 avant J. Chr. Malgré cela quelques ruines existent encore aujourd'hui. L'auteur explique que ce fait n'est pas du au hasard. A son avis, il est parfaitement possible de construire dans la région sismique de Corinthe des bâtiments résistants aux tremblements de terre à condition que leur fondations se trouvent placées au niveau de la marne saine situé en-dessous des bancs de grès durs.
