Abstract:The field data collection is a very critical link in the geophysical exploration.The geomorphic and topographical feature of the working area has a great effect on the quality and progress of field data collection.Therefore,in the whole process of geophysical exploration project which includes the field survey,design,field data collection,processing and interpretation,it is necessary to understand the geology,topography,and other information in detail,and to view and reproduce them quickly and in time.Google Earth platform can intuitively display three-dimensional scenes such as satellite images,aerial photography and GIS data,but how to accurately locate and identify points,lines and areas is the key to the geophysical exploration.In this paper,Python program language is used to encode user-defined KML landmark files,and then the files are imported into Google Earth platform to realize the real-view of the topographic and geomorphic features of the survey points,lines and areas in order to guide the exploration work intuitively and accurately.Actually,an application example has shown that the combination of Python program language and Google Earth platform can not only improve the work efficiency of geophysical exploration,but also save the project cost.
