摘    要:巴基斯坦苏来曼地区上新统的多克帕坦组是著名的西瓦利克岩系的中部岩性段,它由一套灰白、灰黄色的含中粗粒岩屑砂岩、长石岩屑砂岩和灰黄、棕红色的粉砂岩,泥岩组成,呈稳定的南北向展布。物源分析结果表明:多克帕坦组的物源主要是由造山带蚀源区所提供,即来源于一直处于降隆升阶段的喜马拉雅山褶皱带。

Abstract:The Pliocene Dhok Pathan Formation, Sulaiman, Pakistan, is the middle part of thewellknown Siwalik rock series. It consists of whitish gery, yellowish-grey medium-tocoarse-grained gravel-bearing lithic sandstone and feldspar lithic sandstone and yellowishgrey, brownish-red siltstone and mudstone, and stably extends in north-south direction.Lithologically, the sandstone characterized by high quantity of lithic fragments and lowquantity of quartz, contains 38 % - 52 % of quartz, 11% - 29 % of feldspar and 27 % - 50% oflithic fragments. Judged from the color, organic matter, sedimentary structure and grain sizeanalysis of sandstone, it is formed in a sandy braided river fluvial environment which musthave been high in flowage, water velocity and sediment load under the arid-semiarid climate.The result of source analysis shows that the recyclic orogeny belt provided the sedimentsource for Dhok Pathan formation.
