A Gender Study on Long-term Ocean Cruising

The paper focuses on long-term ocean cruising and cruisers who engage in long-distance sailing voyages as a lifestyle.In taking this specific focus,the study explores the influence of the patriarchal hegemony upon the quality of travel experiences and the roles and responsibilities associated with both genders while they are cruising,and proposes alterations to existing cultural and educational consciousness of the positions of both genders in society in the hope of bringing about changes in cruising women’s roles,responsibilities and social status.
