Abstract:A long data series from EISCAT Svalbard Radar and Digisonde Portable Sounder-4(DPS-4) at Zhongshan Station, between December 2006 and December 2007,have been analyzed for diurnal variability in the F2 region critical frequency(f_0F2) and peak altitude(h_mF2).Comparison with the international reference ionosphere model (IRI-2007) clearly demonstrates that observations at both stations were consistent with the IRI prediction in summer, but with great deviations in winter.It is suggested that although the phot...
