摘    要:广州城下的珠江(广州至虎门)下属河成水道,而是潮道-潮成水道。论述了这一水道的成因和动力地貌特点,强调指出了这一潮道体系中潮滩和潮汐汊道存在的重要性。认为洙江的保护必须首次注意保护好潮滩(潮道中的近岸浅滩),即不要再缩窄江面;其次是不能随意将潮道四周平原上的潮汐汊道堵塞或消灭

Abstract:The main waterway of the Pearl River system from Guangzhou city to the Humen inlet is a tidal channel,in which tidal energy predominates. The tidal channel system is formed with massive sediment depositing here brought from the Beijiang River in the west and the Dongjiang River in the east. According to the formation mechanism and dynamics features, it is termed "progressive tidal estuary", which is characterized by the co existence of tidal flats and troughs on both sides of the main tidal channel bed with many winding tidal brance channels developing to the area. When tidal flats are destroyed because of relamation, new tidal flats will grow again in the new environment, but the width of the main tidal channel win decrease with the dramatic weakening of tidal dynamics. Therefore, it is suggested that the tidal flats and tidal branch channels should be protected strictly as long as the main waterway of the Pearl River is to be maintained at human's service.
