Abstract: | Concentrations of twelve trace elements (Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, La and Ce) in eight Chinese stream-sediment reference samples have been determined by energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The samples were analyzed directly and non-destructively in loose powder form. Compton scatter radiation was used as an internal standard to compensate for variations in sample matrix, particle size, packing density, and instrumental operating characteristics. The results agree well with the Chinese recommended values. |
