| 摘 要： | 国际旅游作为当今世界最为活跃的社会经济活动，不仅已成为人们生活的重要组成部分，而且广泛渗透进社会经济的各个方面，对人类社会经济的发展产生着重要的促进作用和影响。新旧世纪交际之际，回顾20世纪国际旅游的发展进程及特点，总结其对世界经济发展的作用和影响，进一步分析21世纪国际旅游面临的机遇和挑战，展望了21世纪国际旅游发展的大趋势。
