ON THE EFFECT OF PHYSICO-GEOTECHNICALCHARACTERISTICS UPON SOUND VELOCITIESOF SEA FLOOR SEDIMENTS

摘    要:This paper aims at revealing the correlation between microtexture of sediments and their acoustic presentation as well as the effect of phytico-geotechntcal characteristics upon sound velocities of the sea floor. Our results show that the unconfined pressing strength can be used as a supplement to the velocity calculation based on the porosity for sediments. Thil would improve results calculated leaving the pore structure out of consideration as the equation given by R. S. Anderson, in no respect to measuring the microtexture of pores.
