| Abstract: | A heavy walled steel tube has been used as an impedance tube for measuring the acoustic impedance of marine sediments. The acoustic characteristics of the water filled tube were found to be satisfactory for the measurements. Values of acoustic velocity and attenuation in the sediments were determined from the acoustic impedance measurements and found to agree with previously published data. |
