Adaptation of heat and mass exchange model to the calculation of diurnal water temperature regime in a stratified reservoir

A box model algorithm for heat and mass exchange model for a valley reservoir was adapted for the diurnal calculation of hydrological characteristics. Field observation data were used to obtain an empirical dependence for the calculation of the rate of vertical water mixing of water in a water body. The verification of the new model demonstrated a good quality of calculation for short-term prediction of water temperature. Recommendations are given for the further improvement of the calculation algorithm.
