| Abstract: | Since the steel shell vessels came into being,biological fouling and corrosion have been two factors inhibiting the normal operation of ships as they reduce ship speed and increase fuel consumption.The corrosion of steel shell vessels in sea water is mainly an electrochemical process.The simultaneous occurrence and development of biofouling and corrosion at the interface of sea water and metal have resulted in the accelerated corrosion and destruction of steel shell of the ship. |
