| Abstract: | Current theories for planetary formation are briefly reviewed together with the general astronomical background. The main intention is to provide a general survey of the whole problem rather than to discuss details. In emphasizing the existing problems, we hope to stimulate further work.Paper presented at the Conference on Protostars and Planets, held at the Planetary Science Institute, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, between January 3 and 7, 1978. |
