Abstract:This paper discusses the abilities of numerical models to predict the morphodynamics over loose and rigid ho. In the papers first part the model TSEF is presented which solves the bed evolution equation in conjunction with sediment transport formulas. The flow field and the water wepth are calculated using the dept-averaged hydrodynamic model TELEMAC-2D. In the second part algorithms to simulate unsaturated sediment transport over rigid beds are presented. The problem of how to calculated the transport rate in the transition zone is posed. Finally the model is applied to an estuarine tributary.
