| Abstract: | The methods used by the US Department of the Interior to estimate risks of accidental oil spills attendant with offshore oil production and transportation are described. Both the likelihood of spill occurrence and hypothetical spill trajectories are considered. Five separate applications of the risk assessment work are summarized. |
