| Abstract: | Amplitude and phase curves of magnetotelluric (MTS) and gradient magneto-variational (MVS) soundings in the period range 0.5–24 h obtained by Cox, Filloux and Larsen are interpreted. After some corrections the results of both kinds of sounding are practically the same. These results indicate high-conductivity oceanic asthenosphere at the 70–170-km depths. |
