| Abstract: | Summary Tunneling of surface waves (which are also called  non-propagating or evanescent mode) in isothermal atmosphere is considered. Tunneling of 5-min oscillations in solar atmosphere is discussed. Phase lead of chromospheric oscillations with respect to photospheric oscillations (Tanenbaum et al., 1971) can be explained by tunneling only. |
