略谈古地磁学的基本原理和研究方法

近十余年来,一种新的大地构造假说——岩石圈板块构造说,正在中外地学界广泛地流行着,激起了许多地质学和地球物理学工作者的强烈兴趣。一些学者运用这个假说已经解答了存在于地球科学方面长期以来所遗留下的不少难题。目前,板块构造假说正以空前旺盛的活力在向前发展并日臻完善起来。

PALEOMAGNETISM:BASIC PRINCIPLES AND METHODS OF STUDY

Paleomagnetism (s. 1.) is the science which studies the direction, intensity and evolution of the earth’s magnetic field in geological and prehistorical times. It plays an important role in formulating and promoting the theory of plate tectonics. During the last decade, paleomagnetism attracts more and more of attention of earth scientists in China. An introductory exposition of the principles and methods of this discipline is badly needed. We espect that this paper would partly fill the gap.
