| Abstract: | This paper consists of two parts. The first part gives an account of reviewing thework already done for the aurora borealis, dealing with arctic explorers and observingstations since 1GY in Antarctic, together with aurora height brightness, forms andstructures, color and spectroscopy. The second part enumerates six modern problemsof aurora australis to be undertaken for Chinese scientific workers during forthcomingyears; these are aurora conjugacy, aurora ovals, aurora substorms, methods of treatinglarge amount of data,shock-aurora and comparative planetology. |
