Abstract: | Analysis of genetic and compositional types of bottom deposits, rates of their sedimentation and accumulation, and thickness
of sedimentary bed in the Angara cascade reservoirs made it possible to reveal for the first time the vertical belt zoning
in one of the largest cascades of the artificial reservoirs. The belt zoning is determined by sedimentation conditions, including
petrographic and lithological-geochemical composition of the rocks of the water drainage area, hydrodynamic parameters, and
bottom topography of the cascade reservoirs. The vertical zonal distribution in the Angara cascade reservoirs consists in
the relation of grain-size sedimentary fractions, their constituent minerals, and geochemical fields to definite elements
of bottom topography: morphodynamic belts, main of which are coastal bank, underwater slope of coastal bank, flooded terraces,
and flooded Angara River bed. |
