| Abstract: | Propagation and amplification of the pearls are analysed, with diffusion of wave trains in the k-space taken into account. The competition between the instability-induced amplification and the diffusion determines the values of magnetospheric parameters at which the appearance of pearls is possible. Diffusion is particularly large under conditions of a thin plasmapause and generation of pearls there is hindered or is not possible at all. |
