Distribution of classical cepheids in the galactic plane

Major spiral arms were traced from the distribution of long-period classical cepheids on the projected galactic plane. The position of these spiral features have been compared with those from other optical tracers such as H II regions and OB star groups. Also the galactic longitude distribution of classical cepheids and open clusters are compared.
