Floating plastic debris in the Mediterranean |

| Abstract: | A high density of floating debris (approximately 2000 km?2) is reported in an area of the Mediterranean 40 miles SW of Malta. The majority of objects counted (60–70%) appeared to be pieces of plastic. |
