广州大学城意象的初步研究

对广州大学城进行意象调查,结果显示大学城边界及区域清晰,但整体意象模糊;区域性标志物明显,但缺乏全"城"性标志物;节点和道路特色不明显,可识别性不高;文化氛围不浓,大学城的个性不够突出。根据凯文.林奇的城市意象理论,从"居民"的环境体验出发,着眼于大学城景观表面的可读性,为建设能够引起人们强烈意象的广州大学城提出建议:加快共享步伐,形成大学城的整体意象;建环"中心湖"标志性建筑群,凸现大学城精神;改善大学城道路,营造人性化环境;培育文化氛围,塑造大学城个性。

A Study on the Image of Guangzhou University Town

According to Kevin Lynch's city image theory,the image of Guangzhou university town is elicited by a statistical analysis of the results from questionnaires conducted recently.It is indicated that the boundary and area of the university town are clear but the overall image is ambiguous;local landmark is evident but no symbol for the whole town;the characteristics of the nodes and roads are not obvious and less-identifiable;the historical and cultural atmosphere is weak,and the town has no distinct features.With a view to readability of landscape of university town,beginning from environmental experience as a resident,some suggestions for construct an impressive university town are put forward: accelerating the resources-sharing pace to form an integral image;constructing a building cluster around the center lake as a symbol to give prominence to the spirit of the university town;improving the inner transportation to humanize the surroundings;fostering the cultural atmosphere to develop the individuality of the town.
