Abstract: | The tectonic evolutions of Gondwana and Laurasia in the Late Precambrian show some differences, which become more striking after the Late Riphean (1000-700 m.y.), when Gondwana separated from Pangea. These differences include distributions of aulocogens and intrageosynclines as well as zones of non-geosyncline tectono-thermal reworking of basement. Geodynamics of interiors in Gondwana and Laurasia were quite different during the Vendian-Early Cambrian. The fragmentation of Laurasia and the opening of the Iapetus and the Paleo-Asian ocean coincide in time with the Pan-African orogeny and equivalent orogenies in Gondwana. |
