| Abstract: | The ductile extensional structures occurred in the continental crust can be classified into six patterns: ductile denudational faults, metamorphic core complexes, subhorizontal ductile shear zones, folding layers,transversal tectono-trans-positional foliations, and extensive thinning and pinching out of layers. The ductile extensional structures, which are of great importance to the tectonic evolution of the earth crust, may occur in the different tectonic settings with different geological ages. In this paper, the significance of studying the ore-controlling of extensional structures has been emphasized as well. |
