八三玉的命名及其与天然翡翠的鉴别

八三玉问世以来，多数人认为其主要矿物成份为钠长石，定名为钠长石玉。其实八三玉的主要矿物成份是硬玉和少量闪石类、辉石类矿物组成的质粗水平的硬玉岩，属翡翠的一个新玉种。八三玉颗粒较粗，结构疏松，解理微裂隙发育，但经优化处理后可提高透明度、增强牢固性，改善其色泽和外观，可提高八三玉饰品的商业价值。八三玉作为缅甸翡翠的一个新玉种，其商贸名称仍可沿用，但其饰品在是鉴定时应采用国家标准定名为翡翠（处理）。

Basan Jade is a popular commercial name in the boundary region between China and Burma. Since it comes out, most people have believde the main mineral of Basan Jade is albite, and named it Albite Jade. However, we believe it is a rough jadeitite composed of main mineral jadeit and a few amphibole, pyroxene, belonging to a new jade species of Burma Feicui. The Basan Jade is charaeterized by coarse grain, limp structure and with a lot of joint and mierofissure. By improvement process, increasing transparence, consolidating structure, strengthening firmness, greatly improving color and appearence, the comercial value of Basan Jade jewdlry can be raised. The Basan Jade is distinguishable from the natural feicui by lustre, color, refractive index, density, ultraviolet fluorcscence, texture feature, infrared spectroscopy. As a new species of Burma feicui, the commercial name Basan Jade is still applicable. However, it must be named feicui during identification according to the state criterion.
