Abstract: | I suggest that the training environment and the female built body are both politicised sites of change. The gym provides a material and discursive environment that reworks bodies in the masculine/feminine binary. The specific materiality of women's muscled (built) bodies provides the ground for contestation of Western heirarchical dualisms, thereby opening up new spaces to reconceptualise the sexed body in geography. |
