The attenuation field in the source zones of strong earthquakes in Garm

The temporal variations in shear-wave attenuation field in several focal zones of the strong earthquakes that occurred in the Earth??s crust and the upper mantle in the Garm region (Tajikistan) between 1980 and1991 are investigated by analyzing the detailed structure of coda envelopes of the local earthquakes. The significant role of fluids in the formation of the source zones of the strong Garm earthquakes is shown. The influence of the nonuniform rotation of the Earth on the dynamics of the deep fluid regime and seismicity is considered.
