Deep-water foraminifera communities of the Arctic Ocean

Sixteen foraminifera communities were distinguished on the basis of the quantitative analysis of the composition of the benthic foraminifera in the bottom sediments sampled at 254 stations at depths from 200 to 4411 m in the Arctic Ocean. The distribution of these communities is controlled by the environmental factors, which depend on the latitude and bathymetric zones of the Arctic Ocean, the currents, the water masses, and the content of calcium carbonate and organic carbon in the bottom water and in the sediments.
