Construction and Updating of 1:1000000 Geospacial Database of China

The construction of1:1,000,000geospacial database in China has gone through several stages since1984,the paper summarized this progress and introduced the1:1,000,000topographic database which checked and accepted in1994,the digital map database of China (1:1,00,000,International Version)which published in1996,The China dataset of global map which finished in2000.The paper also described the general information,data sources,updating data source,product and character of the1:1,000,000geospacial database of2002version in detail.At last,the paper makes a prospect to the continuously updating of the database,enriching the contents of the information and making relationship with the multi-scale database of the national fundamental GIS(NFGIS).
