| Abstract: | In this paper the direct approach (analytical method ) and indirect approach ( simulating method) are applied to analyze the probability distribution of durations or lengths of persistent multi-year droughts.Meanwhile a method for determining retutn p0eriods of the droughts is proposed so callde as the method of entire duration retutn pdriod.It is convenient to use the method in practice. |
