Abstract: | The work discusses relationships between mud volcanoes, tectonic faults, folds, and oil-and-gas deposits. The location of roots and centers of mud volcanic activity is analyzed. It proposes a new model of mud volcano formation, according to which these structures result from the development of elision systems of sedimentary basins. |
