Abstract: | Fluid inclusions in rocks of the Kuvalrog and Shanuch plutons, located in Kamchatka and belonging to the Ni-bearing norite-cortlandite association, have been studied. Microthermometry (heating and freezing) and Raman spectroscopy indicate differing composition of fluid inclusions from these plutons. High-density CO2 inclusions are characteristic of Kuvalrog, whereas N2-CH4-CO2 and aqueous inclusions dominate in Shanuch. The presence of methane in the fluid of the Shanuch pluton is an indicator of its resource potential in respect to high-grade sulfide mineralization. |
