Abstract:Star tracking system is one of the main parts in a stellar interferometer. In this paper we briefely describe the general ways of monitoring the tilt of star light wavefronts and propose a new scheme of the star tracker for our prototype imterferometer. The monitoring system for the wavefront tilts is suggested to be set after the beam combiner and the same optical system shown in fig. 1 will be used to detect the two star light beams .A toothing modulating plate shuts the two beams alternatively when it is rotating. A photodiod is illuminated by an artificial light periodically because of the modulating plate, so as to distinguish the signals on the PMTs produced by the two star light beams. Some paremeters for the design of the star tracker are proposed here.
