Biostratigraphy and sedimentary environments of the Paleogene in the Shore Zone,Shandong

The principles of biostratigraphy,sedimentology and element geochemistry are comprehensively applied to the study of the Paleogene of the Shore Zone of Shan- dong Province.During the deposition of the Kongdian to Dongying Formation,the sedi- ments of lake facies dominated this area,with sediments of fluvial and alluvial facies oc- curring on some occasions.The Nos.1 and 2 members of the Shahejie Formation include respectively five(Ilyocyprimorpha jinanensis-Tuberocyproides sulcata,Cypria gargara- Eucypris faviformis,Carnarocypris elliptica-C,longa,Pseudocandona longa and Virgato- cypris triangularis communities)and three ostracod communities(Lirnnocypthere arma- ta-Pseudocandona deplanata,Miniocypris subtriangularis-Phacocypris panheensis and Xiyingia luminosa-Guangbeinia xinzhenensis communities).
