Geochronological data on recent magmatism of the Aegean Sea |

| Abstract: | Radiometric ages and chemical character of the Tertiary and Quaternary volcanics of the Aegean Sea indicate a gap between the Recent calc-alkaline volcanism and the Tertiary one. This latter reached its climax in the Oligocene—Late Miocene. The two calc-alkaline magmatisms are related to distinct subduction processes. |
