矿石光片抛光新法——橡胶盘抛光法

Polishing is carried out on a rotating rubber disc in this method. Rubber of high quality with good elasticity is required and the rubber disc is grooved for holding polishing abrasives. Rough and fine polishing can be achieved depending on the grain size of abrasives used: The quality of polishing is supperior to that by traditional polishing on felt. Exeellant polished sections can be obtained after very short time of polishing regardless of the physical properties such as hardness and brittleness of a mineral. By choosing su{table abrasive, structure polishing can also be conducted, i.e., the micro-structure will be revealed just by polishing without etching by any chemical agents.
