VARIED AND INTERESTING GEOLOGICAL TOUR FOR THE 30TH IGC |

| Abstract: | An extensive programme of field trips have been planned for the 30th IGC, cov-ering most of the provinces (regions) of China. They highlight China'major orogenicbelts:the Tianshan-Yanshan Mountains in the north,the Kunlun-Qinling Mountains inthe central part and the Hengduan Mountains and the Himalayas in the south west; Largesedimentary basins of different genetic types; and a great variety of geological attractions. Natural hazards, environmental protection and fundamental geology are also keynotes ofthe excursions. |
