| Abstract: | The application of the new optimal method, namely, genetic programming to the prognosis of mechanical properties of rocks, is introduced. As it is suitable to optimizing the complex and non-linear problems with uncertain relationship between cause and result, the genetic programming provides effective technique for prognosis of mechanical properties of rocks. The practical cases show that it is greatly feasible. |
