Seismic data on magma chambers of the large tolbachik eruption

This paper discusses the methods and techniques of observation that can at present be applied to a seismic refraction study of active volcanoes with a view of determining the magma chamber location. A system of magma chambers has been outlined in the earth’s crust and transition layer between the crust and the mantle under the Tolbachik Volcano group. Magma chambers are dynamically related to each other. The feeding magma chambers of the newly-formed Tolbachik volcanoes and Plosky Tolbachik volcano are assumed to be interrelated through the transition zone between the crust and the mantle.
