Abstract: | Seasonal occurrence patterns within the Mobile Bay estuary, Alabama, of five species of cumaceans are described.Oxyurostylis smithi was most abundant, followed byLeucon americanus, Cyclaspis varians, Eudorella monodon andAlmyracuma proximoculi. With the exception of the oligohalineA. proximoculi, the cumaceans encountered within the estuary are euryhaline marine species that are most abundant at the lower bay stations and that utilize the estuary only when environmental conditions are favorable. |
