The development and recent tendency of Japanese urban geography

Based on a lot of documents in Japanese, this article makes a concise analysis of the study contents of Japanese Urban Geography in different periods. Then it gives us to understand its development characteristics from several aspects, such as theory, method and study contents. Finally, this article summarizes several new trends of urban Geography's studies in Japan since the 1980's.
