| Abstract: | The distinction and relation between the Principle of effective stress and the theory ofunsaturated soil established on the basis of two stress state variables are discussed. The Cambridge model isexpanded to the case of unsaturated soil by the use of effective stress. The comparison between this modeland old elastoplastic models is given. |
