Abstract: | Many results have been achieved after long-peried studies in the Tan-Lu fault zone. But, serious controversyremains in geochronology of the fault zone, and reliable timing evidence, especially for strike-slip movement of the faultzone,is still rare,Strike-slip movement is a neither abrupt process nor uniform process. On the basis of our recent stud-ies and other work in geological chronology and isotopic chronology of the fault zone,it is concluded that shear fracturesand large-scale sinistra strike-slip movement on the Tan-Lu fault zone started in the latest late Jurassic (abeut 140Maago).In the latest Early Cretaceous time(about 110 Ma ago),the fault zone experienced another important strike-slipmovement, the sinistral strike-slip movement on the Tan-Lu fault lasted for about 30Ma. Afterwards, the fault zonewas subjected to extension. From the Middle Eocene time, the fault zone suffered compression with small-stale dextralmovement on it many times. |
